One of the greatest challenges for Turo hosts is the likelihood of damage claims and the protection plan deductibles. As a member of the ClaimShare Cooperative, you'll enjoy reimbursement of your deductibles and the peace of mind to move to a higher paying plan.
"I hate Turo deductibles but now I feel more prepared to manage them thanks to the support of the Claim Share Cooperative. The reimbursement request was quick and painless taking under 5 mins and even better, I received payment within 1 hour. After this experience, I signed another one of my cars up. Easy Peezy!"

Are you a member of the Carshare Academy? Members at the Mercedes Plan and McLaren Plan levels enjoy a 10% Benefit Boost at the Claimshare Cooperative. This means that whatever benefit plan you choose, you can add 10% to your annual benefit available.
The ClaimShare Collaborative is a for-profit company created to improve the Turo hosting experience by lowering the deductible impact for damage claims, providing peace of mind to move to a higher-paying protection plan, and increasing host profitability.
The ClaimShare Cooperative is not insurance, is not regulated as such, and should not be viewed as such. We follow a model that has been in place for decades, helping families without medical insurance to cover medical expenses.
Once approved to join the ClaimShare Cooperative, you will begin making contributions, either monthly, or a one-time annual contribution (10% discount), which qualify you to receive payment for damage claim deductibles, when submitted with documentation, up to the maximum annual benefit. For every $1.00 contributed, you will have $2.00 in benefits available.
The submission process is simple. You'll complete a form with information about the claim, attach a screenshot of the final resolution email from your Turo damage claim rep, and then forward the actual email from the Turo claim rep to us. We'll review the documentation, verify the claim number with Turo, and once approved, begin the payment process.
We are committed to a 100% benefit payment guarantee when a claim is submitted with proper documentation. Payment will be electronically sent within 72 hours of claim submission. Payment may take longer if required documentation is not received with the initial submission.
This is one of the things that brings so much value to members! Whatever benefits you don't use in your plan year will be rolled over to the new plan year and will remain available, in addition to the benefits for your new plan year. Benefits roll over a maximum of one year and are available as long as you are a contributing member.
Your benefits are always available to you as long as you are a contributing member, with unused benefits even rolled over into a second year. You may cancel your membership at any time. Any unused benefits will be forfeited upon cancellation.
The ClaimShare Cooperative uses the same Client Relationship Management system used by companies such as Coca-Cola, Hulu, Canva, EA Sports, Universal Music Group, the NHL, and more. Your data will never be sold or given to anyone or any organization.
We understand that accountability and transparency are critical. To provide for that accountability and transparency, the following measures are in place.
The Upgrade Calculator will show you how upgradng just one step to a higher paying protection plan will likely generate enough additional revenue to more than cover your ClaimShare Cooperative membership.
Cindy is a Tier 4 member of the ClaimShare Cooperative. Her Jeep Compass is on the 90 Plan and she has a $2,500 dollar deductible. An accident occurred with $4,200 in damage. Turo processed the claim, applied her deductible, and sent her $1,700 to repair the vehicle. She then submitted her claim information to the ClaimShare Cooperative, and within 72 hours she had $2,500 deposited into her account. She had only contributed $1,250 to be a member. Instead of being out of pocket $2,500 to get her vehicle back on the road, she was only out $1,250.
Michael is a Tier 3 member of the ClaimShare Cooperative. His Camry is on the 80 Plan and was in a minor accident with $450 in damage. Turo processed the claim, applied the deductible, and Michael was not sent anything since his claim was below the $750 deductible. Michael submitted his claim information to the ClaimShare Cooperative and within 72 hours received a deposit of $450. He had only contributed $225 to the Co-Op, so his deductible impact was effectively reduced by half.
Deondre is a Tier 4 member. His 3 Series is on the 90 Plan and was was in a minor accident with $1,750 in damage. Turo processed his claim, applied the deductible, and did not send him anything since his claim was below the $2,500 deductible. Deondre submitted his claim to the ClaimShare Cooperative and within 72 hours received a deposit of $1,750.
Six months later the same vehicle was involved in another accident and sustained $1,200 in damage. Again, Turo paid him nothing after the deductible was applied. Deondre still had $750 available at the ClaimShare Cooperative, submitted his claim, and the remaining $750 benefit was sent to him within 72 hours.
Deondre had contributed a total of $1,250 to the ClaimShare Cooperative, and between the two claims, received $2,500 in benefits.
Michelle is a Tier 4 member. For the first year of her membership she did not have any damage claims. She had accrued $2,500 in benefits available to her. Michelle decided to continue her membership into a second year. Her benefits from year one were rolled over into year two. She accrued another $2,500 in benefits.
Michelle's CrossTreck was involved in a serious accident with $17,000 in damage. Turo processed the claim, applied the deductible, and sent her $14,500 to repair the vehicle. Michelle submitted the claim to the ClaimShare Cooperative and within 72 hours received a deposit of $2,500. But sadly, the story doesn't end there.
Four months later the CrossTreck was hit again and this time Turo declared it a total loss with a $18,000 actual cash value. Again, the deductible was applied and $15,500 was sent to the lien holder. Because Michelle's plan benefits had rolled over from the previous year, she was able to submit the total loss claim to the ClaimShare Cooperative and within 72 hours she received another $2,500 deposit to help pay off the remaining balance due to the lien holder.
